Kathleen A. Ryan is a retired 21-year veteran of the Suffolk County Police Department on Long Island.

A breast cancer survivor, Kathleen volunteers on the Board of Directors for Crime Stoppers of Suffolk County, Inc.

She grew up in Huntington, Long Island, and graduated cum laude from Long Island University in 1983 with a B.A. in Music Education.

Kathleen serves on the boards of Sisters in Crime (both NY/TriState & LI) and is a member of MWA-NY, Short Mystery Fiction Society, and Public Safety Writers Association. She’s won awards from PSWA, and has been a finalist for the Macavity and Derringer Awards.

She lives on Long Island with her husband, Joe, and their two children.
